Hi
Everyone
All seniors & juniors
I want some information please guide me right I am from Asia, Pakistan and want to deliver my baby in Canada or USA ,I heard that if we born baby in Canada or usa we can get nationality of our new born baby and other siblings and parents instantly ,in usa and Canada what are laws about this actually me and my husband very interested in Canada or USA nationality .so any body have information regarding this plz share with me thanks………
If your baby is born in Canada - only your baby will be a citizen. There will be no benefits for any other member of the family. The laws are the same in the US. Only the baby will be a citizen - no benefits for the rest of the family. If you and your husband want to immigrate to either Canada or the US - you will have to apply to immigrate and qualify on your own. You cannot become citizens of either country through a child.
I second what scylla is saying. Whoever gave you this information is dead wrong. Both in Canada and the US, the law gives citizenship to the baby but there will be no change for the parents or siblings of the baby. Aside from that, it is not cheap to have a baby in US and Canada. You can expect thousands of $ in hospital bills.
The only benefit you can gain from having a child who is a US or Canadian citizen is that when your child is grown, they can move to that country and possibly sponsor you for PR depending on what the immigration rules on this will be at that time. For this, you will have to wait until your child is at least 18 and for them to make enough money to sponsor you, they would have to have gotten an education and a good job first as well.
