you can take short rentals via kijii. than when you go there you look directly. it is way better than to take an agency they are a rip off.

what you can do is rent through www.airbnb.com you can find some cool deals for a week or two then you can apply for short term from there (how long are you staying?) if you are not staying long book through airbnb they are perfect... or you can just send the owner an email asking him they might accept if they dnt do the first option.

I need some short term rental for the first 1-2months, and then i need something permanent. I would love to buy an apartment but i heard i need to wait till i build up my credit history.

you really dont need an agency to find an apartment in Montreal , all you have to do is check out these sites and search through them, details of the apartment, images, rent, and location will be provided. just set the budget and the time you need the apartment and browse through hundreds of choices.
