In the month of January, especially during the first week when T4 slips for previous tax year aren't necessarily available, how would one answer the question:
Tell us when you filed your income taxes in the last 5 years
For instance, I am ready to submit my citizenship application but for the above question, I am asked for my tax status for 2022. While I am required to file my returns for 2022, my T4s aren't available yet and I may file my 2022 return probably as late as March. In that case, how am I suppose to answer the above question with options:
Taxes filed "no" and required to file "yes", as its simply a description of reality. IRCC agents are well aware of the fact that you can't have filed your taxes yet, after all, they're in the same boat.
If you filed your taxes for 2019, 2020 and 2021 you should be good to go anyway.
Does IRCC compare the T4 employers with the employment history mentioned in the last 5 year or having 3 years of taxes filed is just a separate requirement?
and can IRCC ask for employment verification for last 6th year for someone who is living in Canada for over 5 years on PR?

IRCC is well within their rights to verify from third parties, any documents that you have submitted in support of your application. Taxes is one of the elements to support your claim of fulfilling the residency obligation.
Another question with physical presence calculator is that it asks for absences from Canada within the last 5 years (eligibility period). However, am I expected to state my trips from before I moved to Canada since I have been in Canada only for last 3 years of my eligibility period.
