Just got my MP to follow up with them, and here are the results That I want to share with you:

• The application was received at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney (CIO), Nova Scotia, on May 6, 2019.
• The initial assessment to ensure the sponsor meets all the sponsorship requirements was finalized on June 25, 2019.
• The file has been transferred and received at the Canadian visa office in Ankara on July 18, 2019.
• The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if the sponsored person (the applicant) meets the eligibility requirements.
  • the assessment for the applicant has not started.
• The medical examination results are on file and valid until July 7, 2020.
• The criminality verifications are currently valid.
• The security verifications have not been initiated.
• As per our current processing time, most applications in this category are processed in a timeframe of 12 months. Variuse factors can affect the time it takes to process an application. Rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure efficient processing of the application.

Hi all
I submitted my passport for visa application on Jan. 27.
I had an update on my CIC account, dated Feb. 3, stating that my application has been approved and 'counterfoil' visa has been issued.
Since then I've been waiting to receive my passport (for more than 2 weeks), yet to receive it.
Is it normal to take such time to have my passport returned?

Hey, yes it's normal, it took almost a month for a friend of mine.

and received pre arrival email few hours later.
