So, the thought has crossed my mind to move back...
The scoop: I was born in the US, my mother is Canadian. I moved to Canada with my mom when I was 7, I received landed immigrant status in Canada, then moved back to the US when I was 29.
I am now 41, and married to a US citizen. We live in the US currently. I visit Canada to see family and friends, but have not stayed an extended time since I moved back.
What are my rights to move back with my American husband? Do I have any?
Thanks for any info!
If you never converted your landed immigrant status (permanent residency) to citizenship - then any rights you had to move back to Canada are long gone. Are you certain you were a PR when you left - not a citizen?
One more question... You say that your mother is Canadian. Do you mean a Canadian citizen? What she a Canadian citizen when you were born? If so, how did she get her citizenship (e.g. born in Canada or something else)?
My mother is Canadian and was born in Canada. I was born in the US and am American (should have got dual at that time and now I think that is a long gone opportunity)
My papers are so old it says "Landed Immigrant". I have a SI#. I went to college in Canada, I worked after college for 8 years before moving back to the US.

Based on the info you've provided, you are a Canadian citizen. You can have a look here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules/tool_04.asp.
It is never too late to apply for citizenship in Canada. Provided you can obtain you mother's birth certificate, I would suggest you go straight to applying for a Certificate of Citizenship http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof.asp
Use the links above to apply for a citizenship certificate based on your mother. If you get it, you can apply for your Canadian passport and you would have the right to sponsor your husband for permanent residency.
