I am doing my master study in a canadian university .
From the information of our school's website ,my master program is a 2-year program .But because in the last term,I only need to do my research project, the transcript would show that my last term is part-time.
As a result, my master is 3 full-time semesters+ 1 part time semester.(CEC requires 4 full -time semesters study)
I am wondering if my case needs the requirement of CEC. If not, what should I do next?
The new semester registration deadline is coming up,so this question seems urgent.
I'm not sure, but I know Canadian employers, will only want to know about your actual graudating year - they aren't concerned about how many semesters it took, or if it was p/t or f/t

You need to check with your university registrar. Even though you may only be registered for 3 credit hours (for example), registering for thesis/dissertation research hours usually means you are still classified as a full-time student.
thanks guy,
I have checked the university website ,my research project is 3 credits, but fulltime requires at least 9 credits.
So this semester ,I am gonna be part time,
Could CIC accept my case as 2-year fulltime study?
CHECK with the university registrar or your department. As I previously stated, registration for thesis or dissertation hours (if that is what this is) will usually still be classified as full-time.
If your final semester is part-time, it will fulfill the 2-year full-time requirement.
As you mentioned to me, I checked my university registrar .
Because my university regards my project as a course and that project is only 3 credit, so my final semester is part-time.
But my case is exactly the same as you said:"If your final semester is part-time, it will fulfill the 2-year full-time requirement."
Are you sure about this?
If it is sure, I think I am eligible to apply fou CEC after getting 1 year working experience /

I am so sorry, I meant to write, it will NOT fulfill the 2 year requirement. Did not mean to raise your hopes.
It is fine to ask people questions here, but you must realize we are not CIC agents - you should ask CIC your question. But based on the information in the instruction guide and the OP 25, if your 4th semester is not full-time, it will not count.
