I have made a plan to go Alberta, canada by Emirates through Dhk-Dubai-heathrow-Alberta (connecting flight). i hve some query ragarding the air route.

1. is it mandatory to take transit visa for UK (for connecting flight)? if yes then which route would be more convenient for me?
2. I want to complete my immigration process in Alberta. If i go to Alberta through Toronto/Montreal/any other province then is it necessary to complete my immigration process in Toronto/montreal/any other province?

Hello there Trying to answer your questions:
1. No, a UK transit visa is not required as long as you have a valid Visa to your destination (which you have, your PR visa)
2. As far as I know, your immigration process will take place in your port of entry, so if you want will require a direct flight to Edmonton/Calgary if you want your landing process to be done there. By the way, when are you going?

Dear, mlskr,
First of all you don't need UK transit visa for transiting UK because any sort of Canadian Visa holders exempted from UK transit visa with having confirmed onward journey. However, may I know why do you want to complete your landing formalities in Alberta? Is there any significance? I think it is wise to choose any flight from Dhaka with less transit hours. You can complete your landing formalities in any port of Canada EXCEPT Quebec Province (which includes Montreal) if you FSW applicant. Because in Montreal they will ask for CSQ# which FSW applicant does not have! Still you can land in Montreal but your landing formalities would not complete and you have to do it by your own in local immigration office in Alberta when you reach to Alberta. Also avoid Qatar Airways flight because they only fly to Montreal. Hope this would help you.
