1) I'm near to get my ECA and IELTS report. My wife is in govt service and thus holding an official passport. According to CIC rule official passports are not valid for immigration. Is it possible to surrender this passport and make a new regular passport (without quitting the job) ?
2) If i sponsor my wife later on after i get immigrant then how much time it takes for her get the VISA?
3) How to show proof of funds ? What documents needed to send as proof of funds with my application ? If i need to keep cash in bank, for how much time i need to keep that ?
Yes brother, She can have Regular passport while in govt service. There is a procedure for that. She has to apply to Home Ministry through her office channel and get a NOC. Along with NOC, go to passport office, they will do it. I am quite sure about that. And there will be no issue at all. As a Bangladeshi citizen she is entitled to have a regular passport. Official/Diplomatic passport is a privilege. It is her desire whether to avail the privilege or not....I hope this gives you some confidence.....

My wife changed her permanent address to my Address after our marriage. Since then, everywhere like passport, NID, Birth Certificate she used new Permanent address. But in our Marriage certificate old address is registered. Will it be a problem?
Isn't it same in passport?
If it can be same in passport than what's wrong if it's same in marriage certificate!!
Permanent address should be same in each and every documents.
Dear Brother, it is usual that wife's address shall be different from husband's address at the marriage certificate. The addresses are given of them at the time they were living before the marriage.
In one case it could be same: it was a love marriage in the same building/apartment.
PS: You don't need any correction.

It is about what one should avoid, while requesting for GCMS notes, in order not to end up having his/her case file segregated from the queue and incurring delay.

I have a friend in Canada who is a Canadian citizen. I will ask him to collect GCMS notes on my behalf by merely paying $5.00. But, before that, I am being extra cautious.
I have tried to create a dummy request by clicking the ATIP online link and faced two questions that seem to be show-stoppers. The reason is that somewhere on this forum someone once pointed out that if we click/select wrong options it may cause our files to be removed from the queue, and incur great delay in processing! I regret that I didn't save the link to that forum post.
Please see below the questions I see on the ATIP online form and confirm whether answering these questions wrongly could indeed put our files in trouble.
Which type of records do you wish to request?
Option1: Case Files
Option2: Corporate Records
What type of information would you like to request?
Option1: Notes in Electronic File
Option2: Physical File

If you are overseas, someone else (a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or someone physically present in Canada) will have to obtain them for you under the Access to Information Act. This can be a relative, friend or sponsor, or a commercial service. For this there is a $5 fee (more if you use a commercial service), and you will have to provide consent.
Average time you will get your GCMS notes: 30 days
