Hi Shohel09
How are you ?

I have seen the post earlier, but the interview part is seen now. Thanks to share it.

I congratulate the couple who got the PR. and wish they become successful in canada.

However, I am confused about the purpose of an interview. If the interview is not satisfactory at all, what could be the factors that may have influence of getteing PR ? I think every applicant takes an interview most seriously, because it could be the determining factor for the PR. Isn't it ? Shohel09 can you comment on it pls. ?

Good luck.

SYED

Hello Syed;

Sorry for late reply. I am okay and thank you for asking. I think that I can understand your concern regarding the above “Expression.”

Well, we believe that an Immigration Officer try to use his/her best discretion while selecting a person for the Permanent Resident Status. So, in the case of the Bangladeshi couple, I do NOT think at all that “It was any miraculous incident.”

But at the same time, I am also sure that your concern has not pointed this particular incident. We all know that “To Err is Human.” Naturally, IOs (Immigration Officers) are no exceptions. However, it is needless to say that even “the slightest error” from an IO may cost a whole lot for a potential applicant which is absolutely undesirable. Thus, in my opinion, during the total procedure of a PR application each applicant tends to remain as much cautious as he/she can. And actually, for most of us, except for the "stamp on the passport" , this long processing period can hardly bear any happy or exciting experience.

Thank you.

Anyone here an IT professional who has applied or gonna apply under FSW?
Whats the ratio of people now being interviewed and not interviewd and given the status? If they are suspected about the applicants and anything about the provided documents and information on them, they call you for an interview. Based on my previous experience about Canadian High Comm in Dhaka, They are easy exit for people that present flawless documents.

Hello jnathan;

Welcome back! Where have you been for so long? Although, I can ALMOST AGREE WITH YOUR OPINIONS, unfortunately I am not from the IT sector. So, have you applied so far?

Cheers!

JOB EXPERIENCE LETTER

Well, this issue can be a very technical one. I have observed that many people have experienced such problems in different countries.

In some countries, some employers may refuse to issue an "Experience Certificate" to an employee as his / her job/contract is yet not finished / terminated with certain company.

In each case for the above concern, it has always been advised to contact and request the employer to issue at least an "Attestation" in the first choice.

In an "Attestation/ To Whom It May Concern" it should clearly be mentioned the Name, Nationality, Date of Birth, Present Designation, Job Starting date (with other / previous designations.....if applicable only), Working Time limit (at least 40 hours/ Week in most cases for full time jobs), Elaborate Job descriptions / Duties of the employee.

Now please be sure that the Employer must produce an "Attestation / To Whom It May Concern" on the "Company's Letterhead".

If it does not work, an applicant may have problems to prove his / her job experience and areas of "Main Duties." However, in such difficulties please inform the CIC in detail in "Black and White" why you can not provide an "Experience Certificate”. But once again, such incident only leaves you for the kind consideration of the Immigration Officer.

Although Pay Slips are NOT AT ALL the method to prove your “Job Experience” it is neither the best nor the only way to prove your occupation/ employment status. However to prove your occupation status, you MAY provide copies of "Bank Cheques" for each month (for all salaries that have been received till this date) or, ask your Bank whether they can produce you some sort of Statements that show the detail information (specially your employer's account information from where the salary comes) for your all previous salaries. Or, you may try to collect tax receipts as proofs.

Dear All,

Is it preferable to become member of respective Canadian Professional Bodies before submission of final document? For example, a doctor or an engineer from Bangladesh may member of Canadian Medical Association or any Engineers Association.

Is it adding any value of someone’s application in such way?

In my opinion, it is one of the most difficult jobs to obtain such letter from employer. Every company has prescribed format of employment letter where it is generally states Employee's name, ID number and designation. Other than these, there is no information about duties and responsibilities.

Besides, potential candidate does not want to disclose his position about immigration matter until or unless the visa is stamped. Employer seems to be physiologically affected in regard to immigration matter which lead them respective employee dissatisfaction. Even employer holds promotion in sense of afraid that someday he will leave the company which certainly a worst impact for any employee.

I have seen such practical scenario against my colleague. Fortunately, he had immigrant finally.

Is anyone having any alternate idea?

Who is preferable to sign the Experience Letter; Line Manager or Head of HR?

Hello SaimonBlue;

Quite unfortunately, I personally do not have any idea regarding your concern. Hope others may share their valuable opinions.

Thank you.

Re: Passport Question

Dear jalams2000 - I guess if you need to change a passport, then you have to. There is an option not to return the old passport. Usually the passport office cut across the corners of the 1st few pages of the old book and return with the new passport. But most importantly "you must get reference stamps' on the both the passport. This means they will put a seal/stamp on your new passport saying your old passport no is ######. They will put the same seal/stamp on your old passport and say your new passport no. is #######.

Hello Sohel09 & rezrahman,

Thanks. These are very helpful info that you have provided. Actually I have already applied for the passports and have been waiting for those. I hope everything will be ok accordingly in due course.

Regards.

Hello Bangladeshi applicants! I'm not Bangladeshi, I'm American, and was hoping you could help me with info on the matter of obtaining a police clearance certificate from Bangladesh. (I lived in Dhaka for 2 years).

According to CIC, I am supposed to apply to the Bangladesh Consulate in Ottawa (as I currently reside in Canada). However, they tell me that they don't do this. I found my way to the Dhaka Metro Police website, but am now challenged to obtain further information on the process :)

Any advice on how a non-resident bideshi can obtain a police certificate from Dhaka? Thank you!!!

Hello jes_ON;

We feel quite responsible to have your query in our Popular "ALL BANGLADESHI APPLICANTS FORUM". It is very unfortunate if the High Commission for Bangladesh in Ottawa has denied processing a “Police Clearance Certificate” for you.

Please note that we have already contacted the “Dhaka Metropolitan Police Headquarter” by telephone and by E-mail concerning your situation. Unfortunately the E-mail [emergency@dmp.gov.bd for Helpline] delivery system seemed faulty.

However, as per our “Telephone Conversation” with the responsible officer of the “Police Clearance Certificate” section of the DMP HQ, we suggest you check the following link;

http://www.bdhc.org/download/attestation_application_form.pdf

Please download, fill out and print the application form and re contact the High Commission for Bangladesh in Ottawa with all your necessary proofs (including the Passport) of past residence in Dhaka. They are supposed to do it as this is the rule and they charge for it.

However, please be sure that this process may take quite a long time (we do not know how long) as the High Commission is supposed to forward the application to the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs” of Bangladesh then they will forward it to the “Ministry of Home Affairs” then they will send it to the “Police Head Quarter” then to the DMP HQ, where at least another 7 days are required before they can issue a “Police Clearance Certificate” for a Foreign National.

Dear jes_ON, we feel very sorry to tell you all these, but that is how works are done in Bangladesh. Since you are an American, may I personally advise you to contact the US Embassy in Dhaka for a help? The link for the address is; http://dhaka.usembassy.gov/contact.html just in case. I think that the DMP HQ is supposed to accept requests for the “Police Clearance Certificate” from the Embassies/ High Commissions or Consulates of either country.

Please keep us informed for any further progress.

We wish you All the Best of Luck!
