Since majority of us have applied as provincial nominees, does anyone know if CIC require some kind of job confirmation letter from the present employer with a passport request?

Nope cic doesn't require any of these documents. Cic only does medical & criminality check for PNP applicants. PNP govt. Is responsible for all four job verifications & legitimatation of documents.

Thanks for you info akapoor. I heard some applicants change employers while waiting for their PR and then they receive a request to provide a job confirmation letter since they got nominated for one position, but start working in a different field with an open work permit right after they get it.

I haven't heard any case like that you're mentioning that CIC requests for job confirmation

You can change job after nomination if you have a open work permit and if your nomination was without a job offer ! CIC confirmed it doesn't affect your PR unless you work out of province !

Well, I was on IEC 1 year open work permit but had to provide an offer of employment letter for AINP cuz I applied through the Employer-Driven Stream. I do have a BOWP right now,that is valid until next year,and yes,its for Alberta only. Hopefully I get DM sometime soon. Cheers!
