It was fine as we had all the info needed, and English is both of our first/native languages. (some immigrants were having a hard time answering the questions that the border officials needed answering) We arrived and went through to the US no problems and then went back, with only about 2 minutes in the US border controls.
Coming into Canada was ok, the officer asked why we hadn't inland landed at Calgary or Edmonton, and we just said the CIC call centre said we could do either. He then said it's gonna be a long wait as a lot of people land on a weekend.
Went inside handed our paperwork to the next available officer and were told to wait in the waiting room/car and we will come get you when it's your turn to be processed.
2 hours later, immigration officer gets us, asks us a few questions hands us the completed COPR and makes us sign. Wishes us a good day and sends us on our way....

I am completely restless. It has been almost 2 months (since April 17/18) since "decision made" . Although I made a mistake on my mailing address, it was updated by Ottawa (whom I emailed) on May 5. Since then, nothing. I have not gotten anything and it's been well over a month. No email, no letter. They did not even reply to my email that I sent on May 16 asking whether they had sent any documents to the wrong address.
I recognize that the agents are extremely busy and that they are human but I was expecting at least a quick "yes we did. no we did not". A 2 month wait during which you have no idea whether you got the PR or not is plainly excruciating. I ordered CAPS notes on the 16 and should get them next week. Hopefully, this will shed some light on what is happening.
Should my Canadian common-law and myself ask my local MP for assistance? I am reluctant at the idea but I am becoming pretty desperate at this point.
