I had sent my application to CIC on June 4th. Check was cashed on July 31st. Yesterday I called the bank and got the file number. The status on the CIC website says "Processing started on October 27th". I am waiting for Medical request.

Mine was a chashier's check. If you have the customer copy of the check, the bank can use the number on the check to see if the check has been cashed. The bank will have a scanned copy of the check that the CIC sent for cashing. CIC will write (mine was handwritten) your file number on the back of the check. So ask your bank to look up the scanned copy of the check and read out what is written on the back of the check. You can even ask them to send you a copy of the encashed check from their records and see what is written on the back of the check. Hope that helps.
