sure they need to know your file number to know your details so they know how long you waited and other info so they can act if there is somthing wrong

Just i recived an email from Ammanv VO, they told:
We are currently reviewing files submitted in July 2010; We appreciate your patience and will contact you as this application reaches the next stage of processing.

This means that minimum i need one year to reviw my file.

i received the same email with the same dates i mentioned before they reched july 2010 when have you applied to federal

Today, I also received a similar email from Amman VO saying that my file is in a queue and I have to wait until it reaches the next stage.
I'm a FSW march 2012 damascus applicant.

No dear i recieved it as a reply for email i sent to amman embassy complaining processing delay

still vey long time we can not do anything except waiting. i predict that they will finish all backlog next year based on immigration minister announcment and the big number of immigrants next year

My file is application recived sine 31 May 2011, I think they will start to work on a regular basis this year because it is not coincidence we recive the same email at that time of updating processing time. But if they continue the processing time as present, then they take 4 months to review files during one month. In this case to reach the month of May it will take 40 month (to reach May 2011). Anyway i dont think that they work in this system.

kita believe me . you make me laugh when i read your comment 79 month ;D
hopefuly they will not reach this number since the number of applicanst is decreasing after 2010 . 2010 was the peak so i expect the processing time to decrease after that, it will be 39 or 38 .any how only 28 months remaining for me and 26 months for you. i am so optimistic that next year is last year for our long waiting beleive me if they can process 2010 in one year so 2011 and 2012 easy to process in next year do not forget that amman office only start work last may .
