My application doesn’t appear to be progressing, despite submitting an urgent processing request due to a pending job opportunity that requires clearance. The background check and test were both completed and marked as such, with the last update showing as March 8. Since then, there have been no changes. I’ve checked the website and only receive generic responses. When I call, I’m told only that it’s “being processed” and that the urgent request is under review.

I’m increasingly concerned, as the employer may withdraw the offer if this isn’t resolved soon. If there’s nothing more I can do directly, I’m prepared to engage legal assistance if that would help clarify the situation or move things forward. Is there anything else I should be doing at this stage?

The only other thing I can think of that you haven't mentioned is calling your MP (not too much they can do but somtimes the poke is helpful) and ordering GCMS notes to see if there's an obvious reason for them slowing down. Do note that their website at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...p/become-canadian-citizen/apply/urgently.html does warn that they might not be able to process it urgently (it's up to them) and that even if they accept it as urgent then they might not get it done in time.

I am in the same situation. My urgent processing requests have been ignored twice. My BG was completed on March 27 and there has been no update since. No LPP. Calls to IRCC are useless as the agents are reluctant to provide any answers. Contacting the MP maybe helpful but since in my riding she has no permanent office or staff to follow up with IRCC, she is not helpful for now. I hope your MP is more responsive. If your application is in Vancouver, they do not respond to calls, webforms, or any inquiries, they just don't care.

Yes, Vancouver office. Webforms don’t help at all they give the same generic response to all questions. I will try and reach out to my MP.
