currently i am doing a job in UAE , happy but still want to land in canada my visa expries on 25/feb/2011.
Can any one let me know if take a short leave and go to canada ; but i was reading on forum that it will take 5-6 weeks to get PR , i dot have any relative.
So far I remember you have write in another thread that your wife & kids will stay there.
I think you can go & do the all formalities & then back to UAE. Your wife can receive the PR card.
You can request United Parcel Service (UPS) for a Canadian address to receive the PR card, so that the company can then courier the PR card to you in UAE.
If you do not have a relative, and you have done your immigration through a consultant, then you can give his adress. Otherwise, see if you can find a freind who would oblige. If nothing works out, and you are ladning in Calgary, let me know and I might be in a position to help you.
Dont do any1 of the suggested things. as i told u earlier take ur annual vacation for 45-60 days [some days on loss of pay] stay there take ur PR complete all formalities then come back to join ur job. dont do silly things for petty benefits. hope u understand what i mean. nopo if no one is there, take motel stay there. open ur bank a/c, take sin card then leave, dont give address of any consultant take care of Pr.
In my opinion FMA has a point Imtiaz. Take that Annual Leave. Stay in a not so expensive hotel, and while you are there, take the feel of the place, open an account, apply for Medicare card, know the transportation,communication and any other pertinent knowledge to acquire or even apply for a job. You know, make a useful use of the vacation and visit. Who knows while you are there you will find a person who can help you mail the card if worst case scenario, after maximizing the vacation, you have to come back here without the card.
Whatever it is, make use of your PRV soon. Many people are breaking backs just to get it. God bless you brother.
