I have planned for graduate studies (MSc) in Canada in 2010 (May/Sep). One of the top university has assessed my credentials and invited me to apply on-line and I have already done that. Another university is also assessing my credentials, if successful, will offer good funding as the position is research-based.
Currently, I am working in an another country for 10 years and my PR application is also in process under old system outside of my home country.
Concerned about showing strong ties back home. As I am already out of my country for a long period, how could I show strong ties back home. However, I have my share in our ancestral properties and I also own a 3-beds apartment in my home country. I would also like to take my family along to Canada.
My question is: Where it would be appropriate to lodge my study permit application, in my home country OR from country of current living and applying to CIC where my PR application is already in process?
Thanks for the reply. Enough funds alone is not significant. But what about the strong ties to back home, how one can show strong ties when he/she is living away from home for a long period? A question could arise in IO's mind that after completion of studies where he/she would go? I will not have any residency in the current country of living. So, ultimately I will have to go back to my home country after completion of studies.
see if that que has been raised u can manage by teling that ur parents r long away in home town so u has to look after them ,so no-way to be an residence in that country. u have to manage all medical care of them
hope they will be convienced by this.
You are saying that I will come back to look after my parents, what about those 10 years when I am away from them. The IO might ask who is looking after them now? That would be a completely a lame excuse. In any case, I do not have my parents alive, have only brothers.
My question are:
How about using "duel intent" option?
Are properties back home can establish strong ties?
Well, I personally think that if u get admission in a good university with a handsome scholarship u don't really have to worry about ties. I think the main reason they put much emphasis on ties is that they think people are not gonna spend a lot of money just for a degree from an ordinary school.
I don't know about dual intent but I don't think there is any harm to tell them that u would like to stay in Canada or that u would like to go back to where u r now.
