Hi everyone,
I am going to land in Ontario and want to register for their Financial Credit Program.
As per their website they stated that documents required:
1- Transcripts/Degree copies
2- Summary of Syllabus
3- Work Experience Record
4- FCP application Form
5- Proof of identity.
I am preparing all documents prior my landing so that I can start my P.Eng process early as I will be there only for a week.
My question is do they need any reference letters from employers with work experience record ?
If I am missing something kindly guide me.
Your responses will be highly appreciated.
Hello everyone,
I have done BEngg (Electronics and Comm) from India and MEngg from Canadian University. I applied for EIT- APEGS. They asked me to clear deficiency BS-3 Statics and Dynamics. I have done that course in my BEngg but I could not find the topics in my syllabus. Anyway, they have asked me to either appear for technical exam or to take university course. University course is of-course expensive. I am confused about technical exam though as I studied that course many years ago.
Is there anyone who has given technical exam in this course or any other course

Hey guys., need some advise.
I have an electrical engineering degree from Philippines and I have 9 yrs experience as electrical designer. 6 yrs in the Philippines and 3 yrs in Canada.
I came here in 2012 and worked unyil 2015 as electrical specialist and then got laid off for nearly 3 yrs due to recession.
Anyway, in 2012 I applied for a P. ENG license with APEGA but was before the assessment came out I already took and passed Fundamentals of Engineering and the NPPE exams. But then when the assessment came out I was disappointed cuase they assigned me 15 exams and since FE is equal to 10 exams I still need to take a pass 5 more exams.
I got discouraged and leave it until recession came. Now that I'm back working I plan to continue to get the license.
What is the best approach I can do?
Having been through hell and having spoken to many others sailing in the same boat, here's a word of sincere advice for Newcomers applying for registration as a Professional Engineer to the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario (PEO). Here goes:
- Before you decide to apply to PEO, STOP and research the Registration Process for P.Eng. designation in all the other provinces of Canada to enable you to make a decision as to which province has a process that suits you. It is immaterial as to which Province you live in. You can apply for registration to any provincial association regardless of which province you live in
- If you make the mistake of applying to PEO, you will end up burning your pocket; they will assign numerous technical exams, even though you may have studied all those courses in you degree, or even if you degree is covered under a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between Engineers Canada and the Accrediting Agency in the country where you earned your degree. PEO is the only regulatory authority in Canada which does not accept any MRA
- If you have North American Work Experience (e.g., US Work Experience in Engineering), there are at least 3 Provinces which will consider that in lieu of Canadian Work Experience. Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Saskatchewan
- A word of Caution: If you have a US Degree, DO NOT apply to PEO. There are many people in PEO who simply HATE USA and would go to any extent to humiliate anybody or anything even remotely connected to the US...My Real Life Experience
- You will find that all the associations other than the PEO are very open and extremely courteous and helpful. Compare this to PEO: EXTEMELY RUDE, NASTY and DISCOURTEOUS and NEVER HELPFUL, except to people of their own countries of origin or nationalities
- If you make the mistake of applying to PEO and they assign you exams; and subsequently you apply to any other association, the latter will always make a decision based on the PEO assessment. So think well before you apply to PEO
- Once you are registered as a P.Eng. in any one of the Provinces, you can always get P.Eng. in all the other Provinces

Please do let me know the process how to get license in other provinces using the one we have already. For example how to get people using apegs???
Not at this point, you don't. It's only at a later stage, when you will be required to prove your total years of experience, that they'll do a check with your referees.
Hi All,
I am a Chemical Engineer ( NOC 2134) with a B.tech degree in Chemical Engineering from India and a Master's Degree also in Chemical Engineering from a university in the USA. I have 13 years of work experience from India after my US Master's Degree ( No US or abroad experience.) I am currently in Ontario as a PR. I am have been working for a Canadian Chemical Manufacturing company under a super visor with P Eng license for nearly three months. After reading the post by Square111 on the first page of this thread I am getting little sceptical about the application process with PEO. In this regard
1. Is there any one with similar education and experience like mine and has applied to PEO recently?.
2. The post by Square111 dates back to 2012. Is the situation same now or has it improved.?
3. Can I apply for the P Eng registration before completing 1 year under a P Eng license holder?.
Your replies will help me clear my questions.
Thanks and Regards,
Pavan Kumar

Hi,
You can apply . . Go through p.eng procedure in Ontario. Each province has different procedures.

Hi CVIF123,
My question was to know if the attitude of PEO towards people with US degree has changed now or not from what was described in the first page of this thread. If not what is the best way to know. Also I intend to work on Ontario for the next two years in which case can I still apply for P. Eng license from Alberta or other provinces.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi All,
I wanted to get some information regarding Professional Engineering Licensing. I am a Chemical Engineer and currently working in Ontario since the last 5 months. I wanted to know if I can apply for my Professional Engineering License from any other province and get it transferred to Professional Engineers Ontario. I want to do this as the Licensing Process in Ontario inevitably requires writing Three technical exams and one complementary studies exam. If you fail these exams then you would be put into a Specific Examination Program covering 18 courses.
Thanks and Regards,
Pavan Kumar

Hi I applied for my PR in 2018 and still awaiting my PR. I am also a Chemical Engineer from India and a PhD from the US with 2 years work experience in the US. Currently I am back in India and wondering if it is worthwhile to start the P.Eng process from India before I land in Canada. I plan to do it for Alberta. Also is it impossible to get a job without a P.Eng license as I have only 2 years work experience?
I am already P.Eng. and applied for transfer it to Ontario PEO.
any one who has done that already. please share you experience
how long it takes and any hurdles ?
Thanks
