Address on Receipts

Probably doesn't matter but I thought I would ask anyways

Why is it asking for your address on the receipt, and which address do you put, your residential address or your mailing address.
When I was filling out my applications I had different mailing and residential.

I think the address is the one needed for your credit/debit card company to verify who you are. Once my payment went through the receipt didn't show any address.

Actually I need to handwrite the address after I print the receipt. The payment went through online
