Meena, most people won't know the answer to this because the chances of someone having made similar mistake is very low. There might be people who got it completely wrong and their check was probably returned. If you want to be certain then change it to what it should be, but my honest opinion is that it wouldn't matter, but I am only guessing that it wouldn't matter between 'The receiver General for canada" and "receiver general for canada".
would not make much difference, Meena.. The is generally acceptable. But, it would be a good idea to get it fixed on the same draft itself. ICICI issues a certified cheque, so corrections on cheques are acceptable. Just that the signing authority needs to sign next to the correction as well...
it should not take 8-10 days, in the first place. it seems you are getting it processed from a branch that does not have forex dealings. ask them about the branch which made your cheque. go there and talk to the Forex ppls directly. a simple change on the same cheque will not make a ziltch of a difference to them.
your branch must be small.. hence, they are panicking.. be call and talk to the right people directly
