So, I have been following this thread for more than 6 months now. Comments from the participants have helped me big time. I am in the same boat as everyone is here or was at some point in time. My Timeline:
Application Submitted: Feb 2022
Biometric: Apr 2022
Married: Apr 2022
Informed IRCC about wedding: Jun 2022
Spouse Added to my application: Jun 2023
Biometric & Medical Req for Spouse: July 2023
My suggestion: When you pay for the spouse's application fee, pay for everything in one go i.e. pay for biometric etc. together, there in option to pay everything altogether. Do not wait for their response. I would appreciate if someone can guide me how long does it typically take from this point onwards to final decision.

We still have not received Biometrics letter for my wife even though I paid for it - a total of $1450 ($1365+$85). We got the letter for medical and that is done and IRCC has marked medical as "completed", but no sign of the biometrics letter ...

i have requested to add my spouse on May 2023 as accompanying. I have submitted all additional docs that IRCC asked. Though before that he was already added as my dependant on my file but as non accomapnying when I applied on March 2023. I have not received his AOR. Only received Application Received update back on March 2023 when I submitted PR application.

same thing. but the dependant was already added when I applied. just that he was non accompanying at first and requested to be accompanying a month after. i received email that documents that I sent has been received but did not received any email that she has been included as accompanying dependant in my application.
This is absolutely sheer incompetence on the part of IRCC now. I haven't received the biometrics request letter for my wife yet, her medicals are "completed" but waiting for so long. What in the world are they doing?
