I applied for Young Professional visa and in one of the documents, it asked whether I have a common-law partner and whether the partner is coming with me to Canada. Originally, that wasn't the plan as my partner planned to apply herself for YP. However, YP for her country is not available anymore (no spots left) and we would like to now apply for a common-law visa for her since I already received my YP.
Is there a way to add common-law to existing YP application or can we do it at the border when we get to Canada?
Not sure you can add a spouse or common law partner to your IEC/YP application, they would need to qualify separately either as a visitor or if your YP is a job classified as 0,A or B in which case they could apply for an open work permit quoting the detail about your YP job.
My job offer is classified as B and I start my contract in November. If I understand it correctly, she would be able to apply for an open work permit after I start my job contract? One of the criteria it mentioned is I would need to supply my pay slip. We were hoping we could apply we actually go to Canada in November.
