Very unusual for an employer to apply for provincial insurance for the an employee and their family. How is that even possible when signatures and a picture are required.
Acutally, I think that's how mine worked (and was put on hold few years ago until AIP because the policy was not clear/different)
I added my husband to my MSP coverage as part of my family vai HR in my office. I think the reason is that we pay the premium with our pay (deduction ).
I am not sure how it works now becuase there is no need to pay premium for MSP any more.

I found the answer of my own question. So group plan remains active even after permium is eliminated.

Interesting I was unaware there were group plans for MSP through employers. I an under the impression that MSP had to be applied for individually or as a family unit.

Nothing unusual here. Health Insurance BC has a procedure for group enrollment and offers a special form for that. As for the photo, that's done through any ICBC location in the province.
