what is the current trend of timeline for the passports to be returned once our cic has been updated?

For me it got back to vfs the next day. I guess with aramex it will take 2 days after the update.

Guys i just recieved an email stating that my profile is updated but i cant log in now to check if its about the application approval or something else,did anyone recieve the same?

yes me too... i got the email about 24 hrs later...
basically its to inform you that application is approved.

Dear All,

I need your inputs / gutfeel based responses. I am planning to request for passport withdrawal, hoping that would push them to approve my case since we have had 2 cases in recent days where the cases were approved post that. I do need the passport but not for a dire emergency but something important.

VFS guys has assured that passport withdrawal doesn't halt their internal processes and they will ask for the passport again when they're ready.

I submitted my passport on 23-Jul-17 but haven't received any update yet because my RPFR (landing fee) was unpaid at that time which I paid on 29-jul-17. I am sure it must be updated on their system by now.

I have a feeling that my passport is just lying there forgotten and I need to do something to remind them.

well upto you - atleast 3 applicants have said that the VFS officer informed them withdrawing passport doesnt affect application...

on a secondary note RPRF fees should have been paid earlier man but anyway what is done is done...

hey guys! i got an update on my cic account, saying a final decision has been made. but what about my passport? how will i know if they sent it already? i sent it through aramex btw..

usually if application is approved, passport will come in 1-2 days max...

from the trend i have seen so far - unless and until your application on CIC portal shows "Approved" , you will not get passport back, stamped.

i got my passport back, FINALLY... phew... details below
got CoPR email - 27th July
Submitted passport directly in VFS Abu Dhabi - 30th July
Application approved 20th August
PP returned - 22nd August
last entry date is 3 weeks after medicals expiry... surprising...
anyway good luck to everyone - hope all get their PP soon

Congratulations. Good to know that the last day of entry is sometime after the expiry of medicals. BTW, is the issue date on your visa same as approval date or is it a few days earlier, as a few of the members have previously indicated

according to trends most probably it would be after Eid around 5th September or so, however you never know how these guys process things exactly

By entry date do you mean entry to Canada? Isn't medical validity 6 months?? If so I have alrdy crossed that and yet waiting for PPR...
