Nothing so far...The VFS customer care or helpline is a pain. it takes you 5 mins just to go past all the menu options to finally get in queue to speak to an agent who will provide you the same information thats available on their website (tracking).
Didn't think it would take so long. Both my new as well as previous employer think I'm deliberately delaying my employment/residence visa processing.

Guys, just to share my experience.
There was no updates regarding my passport for 2 weeks which got me very anxious so i called vfs and they told me to send them an email requesting the expedition of my passport and when i do so, i would receive an automated response with a reference number. once i got that reference number the lady on the phone asked me to call back and give her the reference number in order for them to forward my email to the Canadian Embassy.
i did as told and a few minutes later i got a standard response by email telling me that they are not able to expedite the process and that it is at the discretion of the Canadian Embassy, bla bla bla. However, i got an email the next day telling me, my passport is ready for collection.
i am not sure if this was a coincidence or did the email i sent them had something to do with it. I suggest you all to take similar action, maybe it helps.
nothing here as well :S calling VFS won't help, all their job is to transfer whatever they get from one side to another. I really don't know who should be contacted!!

I am at day 21 now (in calendar days) or day 16 (in business days). They received my passport on the 24th July. I hope I get it this week. If the 20 business days thing is true, then I should receive it by next Sunday.

I did register for the email and sms notification service. The only notification i received was when the passports were delivered to the Visa office in AUH

Thanks Dibrahim. On the part of the reference number, how soon did you get this? I received an auto-reply for the email i sent a week ago but have not received a Reference Number on it. Just the word 'CONFIRMATION'
