I will be filing for citizenship(end of March 2014) and leaving the country.

My question is..

1) After how long I will get acknowledgement receipt.
2) What is present in the acknowledgement receipt(citizenship file number ,receipt number )
3) After getting the acknowledgement receipt will i be able to change my address online
4) After how many days of submitting the application will they update ECAS so that i can update my address online

Please advise

1. depends on which local office you are in and how much backlog they have in cpc for that office - approx 3 months
2. your file recieved date and booklet to read
3. yes in 3-4 business days your e-cas will be apdated and you will be ABLE TO CHANGE your address.
( if you are planning to do so please pay canada post 60$ and have them forward all your mails to new address other wise you will miss important dates )
4.only after e-cas gets updates saying in process

Thanks for your quick reply
I am in Toronto(St Clair office area)
Any problem in the future(when I go for interview) if I miss the acknowledgement receipt

Please advise

Looks like you're planning to leave Canada for longer than 2 or 3 months. If that's the case I'd advice against it. You may be questioned on interview day why you were away for such a long time and maybe RQ'ed. but if you re just taking a few weeks vacation that's fine then and you'll find your acknowledgement letter in your mail box when coming back.
