I found my error. I updated my EE application after finding out about the CRS and forgot to finalize the update so probably by the time they reached my app, it was not in "Submitted" mode. Lesson to everyone: do not tinker with your application at the last minute!!!!

You receive an email notification on the email account registered with CIC within 5 mins of the ITA actually being uploaded to your account. So, technically, there is a small delay between the ITA being uploaded on the account and receiving the email, but not noticeable unless you are refreshing your account page almost every minute.
You will get it within 24 hours, be patient and Good Luck!
