chrisdalop,

Here is what my IQAS assesment says:

The combination of High School Diploma and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree generally compares to the completion of Grade Twelve, plus the completion of a three-year Bachelor's degree with a focus in nursing.

With this I was able to take the CRNE and just recently my RN has been approved. Do not worry, you will get the eligibility too. Focus more in your preparation.

IQAS received my application on November 15, 2009 and they were able to finish it on January 27, 2010. Initially after all the documents needed are received they will send you an acknowledgement letter and will tell you that the processing time is 3 months. But in my case they were able to finish it in 2 months time.

@aspire - what happens when you are in canada already and there might be documents needed like NBI clearance from philippines, would you have someone from philippines get you your NBI clearance for that matter? or any other documents needed?

If I remembered it right you were from Saudi Arabia too, right? Please take note that during the CRNE eligibility application process CRNM did not ask for Saudi Police Clearance. I only submitted NBI clearance to CRNM and it was enough. But during the processing of my RN license, they were asking for both the NBI and Saudi police clearances.

Yes, hope to see you in Winnipeg. God Bless.

Thanks Aspire that's a great relief for me. Now, i will focus for my review and prepare for becoming an RN in Manitoba soon. See you in winnipeg. Do you have email address. pls PM it to me. Many thanks. God bless.

hi aspire,
Yes I went on visist visa and wrote exam in oct 2009,I registered (means not completed until i get PR)in ontario, for exam result it will take 4-6 weeks and i believe Ontario is the last one to release the result.Check in allnurses.com blog regarding exam information

Hi
Jincy i got registration under SRNA recently do you hv any idea about the job chances there?

Thank u

Since you are a RN, try to search for job on line, most probably you have a great chance to get one because of your license. Working permit can go in parallel with your PR application but it won't help to speed it up. Though, if CIC is true to their word, your PR should be finalized in a year time, but in reality it isn't.

Did you also go to Canada on visit visa just to sit for the CRNE? I was there last September 30 and took the CRNE last October 6, 2010. During my 10 days stay in Winnipeg I was interviewed by one of the hospitals and got hired. They are working now for my LMO.

In how many weeks your CRNE results came out? It is getting too stressful as I am nearing from the verdict of my CRNE. It will be the deciding factor of wether or not we will pursue with our Canada dream. It is very difficult to leave stable current job and go to Canada with full of uncertainty because of not having the license to work. In which province by the way you are registered? These days it is no longer possible to get the registration without the PR. We were lucky then we got the eligibility before they changed the rules.

Hi Aspire,

I have got RN registration in Canada,.if i go on a visit visa am i eligible to apply for jobs...if secure a job would i apply 4 a workvisa?

Thanks for your reply

hi! i asked about the details of the bridging program at centennial college when i started with my cno application and this was their reply to my inquiry:
One of the requirements for admission to either of our bridging programs is a letter of direction from the College of Nurses of Ontario. The requirement varies for each individual and it would be inappropriate for me to make a generalization for any applicant. I suggest that you wait for the letter of direction from the CNO. Once you receive it, please contact me right away.
hope this clarifies your query. ;)

Sarass,

I got my job offer during the time I visited Canada on visit visa to sit for the CRNE. Most hospitals do not entertain applications from people outside of Canada unless you have someone in Canada who works in the same hospital that can refer you. I know of many Canadian recruiting firms who hires nurses from employment agencies in the Philippines.
The employer who is interested to hire you will apply for Labor Market Opinion (LMO) to the concerned Canadian government agency. If it is approved then together with this LMO you will apply for a working visa in your country of residence. You can also integrate this LMO to your PR application if you have one.

Re: NBI

Yes I did that, I am in Saudi Arabia and I asked my father to take new NBI clearance for me in the Philippines. Authorization letter lang at computer number ng luma mong NBI and of course padala ka rin ng picture. You can e mail the picture and have it developed in the Philippines. Scan and e mail mo narin ang authorization letter mo.

But for Saudi Police Clearance will be very difficult. Saudi Arabia only issues PCC to its legal and current residents. So one must secure Saudi PCC a week before exiting Saudi Arabia for good.

We all know that academic ielts is the needed for the RN in Canada but how about if one wants or needs to settle for an LPN first before becoming an RN. Is General ok for an LPN practice?
