My wife called today (again) to ask about what was the hold up about, and they said they would check what was going on, and we should call in 2 weeks to know whats going on basically..frustrating..really frustrating..
Get your lawyer on this! That's what you paid him/her for. If you were my clients, I would be faxing CPC-M to ensure that you didn't get mistakenly streamed to FC4 (parents).

We made a deal with our lawyer that she would just help us fill in the forms and stuff, and we paid just for that. She is in holidays right now, she'll be back only at the end of the month. Maybe if my wife sends CPC-M a fax?explaining whats going on,what do you think?
thanks for your replies, really appreciate it!

Just cause they say two weeks, doesn't mean you have to wait until then. My husband would call once a week on Monday, then finally we got the word the exact same day it was done.
Thanks for the tip

My wife will call next week for sure, until we get a definitive answer, we will keep on calling!
Thanks for your replies, really appreciate it

My wife got a letter from the government today saying that she has to change her civil status, like fill up some forms and send it to somewhere..well we didn't know we were supposed to do that,we got married and got the marriage certificate and that's it..that's what we sent with our application ( a copy of it).
Would it be because of this that we haven't heard from Mississauga??
Anyone that could share some views??
Thanks!
What gov office or agency did she hear from?
My husband changed his status to as soon as he returned to Canada after we got married. He gave a copy of our marriage certificate to Revenue Canada, and also to the ODSP office, aside from doing so with the bank and other places where it was important that they know he was married.

She received it from Revenue of Canada,
Well she didn't do none of that, could it because of that?
what's ODSP?
Ahh, yeah, she definitely needs to register her change of status with Revenue Canada. I do not know for sure if it would cause a delay with approving your sponsorship, as I said since my husband had already done it before sponsoring me, it wasn't an issue for us.
ODSP = Ontario Disability Support Program.

She'll do that for sure next week and on the meanwhile we will try to know if that was the cause of our delay.
Thank you very much!
My wife and I tried everything to get some answer from Mississauga to know what our holdup really is and not a direct answer from them almost 4 months now, but today she spoke with "someone" that knows "someone" in there, so they told my wife that it's because a page of the form is missing, the page that I was supposed to write the countries that I last visited on the last 10 years or something.
Could it be really that? I mean isn't that a background check that they are supposed to do at the end of application at the visa office and not in Mississauga?
And also we had to find someone to tell us that, not the call center or the fax that we sent them weeks ago, so if we didn't "know" this "person" how many months we would have to wait for them to finally contact us? It's frustrating.
And this person also told us that they wanted to close our application since we didn't complete that part. But we are pretty sure we did, maybe they lost it.
CPC-M will check both parts of the application to ensure it is complete before sending it to the visa office, so yes, if a part of your information is missing, this may be a cause for a delay in sponsor approval. That being said, I would have thought they would return it for completion, as others have had their applications returned for less (forgetting to put Not Applicable in part of a question!), and this is far more serious lack of information.

Well that's what we all wanted, for them to tell us what was wrong or missing so we could fix it instead of 4 months of silence, and now even threatening to close our application.
Thanks CharlieD10 for your help, really appreciate it!
I am really surprised you have not heard from them yet regarding a missing form or that they do not have information in the file to give you.
When I called they just asked me some questions to confirm who I was and looked me up. Once they were in the file they were able to tell me exactly what was missing (one bloody Not Applicable as CharlieD mentioned) and the date it was sent back to me.
So why did they give me that information and yet you do not have anything?? Seems rather odd to me. I believe Bangkokcanuck is in the same situation were they have no information in their system too. But why for one and not another??

Keep calling. You could find someone who can help you.
ECAS is updated ONLY when the sponsorship decision has been made.
Actually my ECAS was updated to tell me that my application had been returned with a letter and to provide the missing information and resubmit the application.
This was before a decision has been made so that is not necessarily true in all cases.

That's why I feel so frustrated, because if something is missing they should contact us, or in the billion phone calls and fax's that we did they should have told us. I feel like I just lost a good couple of months in vain. And still we had to find out about the missing information through someone else, and not them. Frustrating..
