I received pre arrival end of August and eligibility September 13th I guess. What I see is usually people get p1 p2 or ecorp 24th-25th months. So I don’t really expect something soon. I expect to hear something in may-June 2025.
Who knows maybe earlier of course but I don’t want to hope that much and think about it.
I think they will make it faster. Maybe for us 2-3 months early.
I commented before that since the officers are working from office again, you see the files are moving faster!

I really hope that actually

I received the pre arrival letter end of 15th month. Actually even this is good sign I believe. Let’s see. I hope everyone gets their pr on time.
What about the citizenship application for refugees? I don’t know that much information about that yet but I heard refugees waiting a lot for citizenship. Normally people get in 4-5 months but refugees even 2 years

I hope not for all of us

For the citizenship, I can give you an example. My 2 friend became a citizen after 7 months. I think for other programs it is like 4-5 months as you said. But for a refugee, it is not such long like 2 years, just a few months more.

I am very happy to hear that. Thanks for sharing examples. I don’t want to wait for citizenship for long time again.

To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, you must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the five years immediately
before the date of your application. We encourage applicants to apply with more than the minimum requirement of 1,095 days of physical presence, to account for any miscalculations of absences or any other aspect that could lower the physical presence total below 1,095 days.
Please note that you cannot meet the physical presence requirement without a minimum of two (2) years as a permanent resident.
When calculating your time in Canada:
- only the five (5) years immediately before the date of your application are taken into account;
- each day you were physically present in Canada as an authorized temporary resident or protected person before you became a permanent resident counts as half a day (up to a maximum of 365 days);
- each day you were physically present in Canada after you became a permanent resident counts as one day;
- time spent serving a sentence for an offense in Canada (e.g. serving a term of imprisonment, probation, and/or parole) cannot be counted towards your physical presence - there are some exceptions.

Do you know what's the criteria for citizenship after you get PR as a protected person? I thought after PR you'd have to be present in Canada for 3 out of 5 years to become a citizen.

If you were staying in Canada as a convention refugee, every day is counted as 0.5 days and it’s up to one year, so technically you only have to wait for another 2 years to apply for citizenship after getting your permanent residency.
