2022 PR application timeline

Hello everyone. I received my pre-arrival letter today. Here's my updated timeline:

• Applied in April 8, 2022 online from Quebec.
• AOR: April 26, 2022.
• Pre-arrival letter: May 29, 2024.
• Eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
• Medical results:
• Background check: Not applicable.
• Final decision: Your application is in progress.

Your IRCC Secure Account will most likely stay like this. Mine has not changed despite passing info sharing, eligibility.
Normally getting Pre-Arrival means you’ve also passed your eligibility, so that’s a great sign!

Do you happen to know why background check is not applicable in your case?

Also on the 27th. I received P2 today and uploaded my picture. Is it normal guys, that the pic looks black/white after uploading ?

Your IRCC Secure Account will most likely stay like this. Mine has not changed despite passing info sharing, eligibility.
Normally getting Pre-Arrival means you’ve also passed your eligibility, so that’s a great sign!

Do you happen to know why background check is not applicable in your case?

I remember asking an IRCC agent about it once but she told me not to worry about it. In addition, based on the GCMS Notes I received in February 6, 2024, Security was not started, Criminality was still in progress, Org Crime was empty and Info Sharing was still in progress.

Nice! At least they’ve started your background check which is nice. I’m yet to have one commenced, applied in December 2022, also in Québec.
Let’s hope it won’t take IRCC too long to issue our PRs lol

I also received eligibility letter last month( applied pr in November 22.). I received gcsm notes and it shows info sharing, criminality passed. But security has not started. What is the difference between security check and criminality check. no news since then for me

Basically you need both criminality abs security to complete your background check. My understanding criminality is specific to one’s criminal history for major offences while security may refer to a more general screening.
