I have linked about 3 applications in the past. IRCC need to officially begin processing an application before one can link it. And in order for that to happen, an AOR is required. How else will IRCC begin processing your application without them acknowledging receipt of your application through an AOR.
Oh gawd

That means they already processed it, but haven't sent AoR. I have my file number now in IRCC account without using it to link

I personally know 3-4 people who didn't get AOR but linked their apps.
For goodness sake, why cant these "people" who claim to have linked their applications or received some form of AOR from IRCC provide proof. Enough of "I heard" or I know of" we want to see proof, its called fact checking.
Read the forums!!!!!
Proof is out here.

By the date you lodge your application you should have 1560 hrs.
Where?? there is NONE. Please copy paste and share the proof you have seen. How about starting with the 3-4 people you personally know. Prove me wrong.
Like I said, do some research on your own, read previous threads on this page.

More than that, I can't help.
Good luck.
I submitted my application around 5:04, so I need to wait longer than others. But anyway, it seems it's processing, so I'm excited.
LOL, you have no proof. Thanks for admitting to that, indirectly. Google the meaning of Fact Checking.
You're welcome. Oh I know what fact checking is, read the previous threads to find the proof or facts lol.

No AoR email yet ( I checked spam box too). I got an email "your application was successfully linked" after I linked it
Does the application show in GC Key after you linked? Mind sharing a screenshot?
Did you use UCI + Last name + passport details to link?
Did you use UCI + Last name + passport details to link?
Using place of birth can have typos, that's why I suggest using passport details.
