Although I have been fairly sure of this for awhile, I had an IRCC agent confirm the following to me today:

  1. Regarding AOR's: It is not important if your IRCC confirmation email or letter saying that your application can now be linked & has started processing actually says 'AOR' or 'Acknowledgement of Receipt' somewhere in the text of the email or letter -- as long as you are able to Link (even before getting a confirmation email/AOR), and have a formal Application # (starting with E002...; not just a Temporary File Number starting with XE002...), and can see your processing status in your account, that is all that matters.
  2. Regarding Eligibility Status: "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." Many people continue to ask why IRCC would waste time processing an application past Eligibility if it has not yet 'passed'. The agent said that processing would most likely NOT proceed if someone, like an Assistant, had not already determined & recommended in the system (upon "prima facie"/first review of the documents & criteria) that the applicant was eligible. In other words, if your file has progressed in almost any other area, like ADRs, Medicals, Biometrics, etc., it is highly likely that you are 'eligible' because that Assistant has reviewed and recommended to an Officer that your file proceed into further processing steps. At some point, the Officer will have to go back into the system and do a final check/confirmation to pass eligibility. This also explains how it can be that many people are sitting with everything complete or almost complete in their account except for Eligibility and Background Check. (I'm guessing that there is an 'egg-timer' :p somewhere in the system (perhaps the Agent Due Date) that notifies the Officer to check on file progress on a particular date, &/or after the other steps & Background Check are done.)
Best wishes!

I am also not able to concentrate on other things properly. Only thing is that the lives of most people are stuck with these pending applications. Some people may want to go for a better job ( which accepts only PR/Citizens), some may want to open a business, some may want to go for a bachelor/master etc.

LOL guys I need advice :( My sister's study permit got denied (ridiculous reason, speaking to a lawyer) and she's been here for 10 years schooling. My mum is tired of Canada and wants us to leave. I'm super tired of this process and am considering it cuz if my sister leaves, I will be alone here and don't know when next I will be with family... what do y'all think I should do?

Oh my goodness, don’t lose hope just yet. You are so close. If they try to keep to their goal for Service Standard of 6 months from linking/AOR, you might be approved in August. Of course that’s not a guarantee, but if you wait to see it through, you’ll then have PR. You’ll be able to come and go, take your Mom back for awhile to see if she really prefers elsewhere to Canada, and/or eventually if you go for Citizenship, you’ll have so many other options. Best wishes! Don’t quit!!

possible reason for refusal maybe because the program she applied for might not be in sync with her previous education. And it needs to be usually of higher than previous. suppose if she did a b.tech or pg diploma, next should be something like mba or something. a proper SOP would help on top of that. regarding you, I believe based on your post, you seem to be young. Don't worry you will get PR and can go home after that. Trust me, it's better to live your life in Canada

hey guys, I have been asked to provide the IMM 5406 and IMM 5669 again. Both these forms can't hold enough information. Am I allowed to combine these forms with their respective additional information into one PDF file? (2 PDF files total).
Did you mean combining 5406 and 5669 together?
The upload link should have 2 separate uploads: one for IMM 5406 and the other for IMM 5669. So each form is independent with its respective additional attachment. for example, if IMM 5406, fill and combine its additional information. and do also IMM 5669 separate with its additional info combined.
Each pdf form must be less than 4MB. I would advise you use ADOBE pdf online compress to compress if the pdf size is larger. If possible compress medium because the optimum one will be unreadable. make sure you can read the pdf online before you upload.
Regarding additional, probably in the form, on the question you want to attach more details write something like, "See attached additional information"and attach the separate word docs, recreate the rows and fill your data as per the question rows. This is just my suggestion. THIS IS NOT AN ADVISE but I think its how it should be. Make the agents life easy peasy. Make sure the additional attached page has your file number(E00XXXX), name of form, UCI , your name, and the questions you are answering. It must also be signed and dated.

Do not leave any section blank.Officer would not want to make assumptions. If the instruction is write NONE write NONE. if instruction is write Not Applicable write Not Applicable

Sign forms by hand!!

Also when you upload, remember to click NEXT and then click TRANSMIT so that its successfully sent. Most people upload and forget to submit... The dashboard page must show submitted.

Did they apply in the wrong stream or not have sufficient hours, ... ? Do you have the link for that?

Hello Everyone,

I need some advice!

I'm on a post-grad work permit in Canada, I haven't filed my PR application yet, since I'm still waiting for the next TR to PR or Express entry points rounds. I'm planning to get married, and my bf is in India, the actual issue is, that he was inadmissible for 5 years (from 2016 to 2021) for misrepresentation on his own work permit application, and his inadmissibility period ended in 2021. Now I'm confused about whether I should wait to get my PR before we get married and then sponsor him or should I get married first and then add him to my future PR application. Any pros/cons for both these options? What would be the best route for us? Is it easy to get a spousal work permit if you are on a temporary visa (work permit) like in my case if we don't wait until my PR?

Appreciate any input!

It's been 9 months since my last updates, a 5669 ADR at Nov 19. For now, no AOR, no GU and no one open my case again. The only one I got is my medical is expired. Thank you WH officers, enjoy your summer vacation!
Officers are given 1 yr deadline for Tr2pr files. On Fb, I have seen a few posts for people who received AOR in August, Sept and Oct, they were directly receiving portal emails this month. You should definitely get something in the next 1-3 months.
