Has anyone heard anything?? We’ve been in the background check since March. I don’t understand why it only takes so long for beirut ????

Nop no news just waiting for my GCMS notes to see what’s happening!!!! I really don’t if we can contact anyone from the embassy of canada in beirut to see why it takes soooo long

Hi what are good things to write in my letter to prove to them i want to live in canada with my wife??? Please help i am applying for my wife in lebanon we have been married 4 years i am a born canadian i had work in lebanon and now work isnt so good we have a 2 year old son who is canadian citizen and my father mother and all my siblings live in canada i just need help to what i should say for proof of staying in canada forever

Even if u give them proof in letter nothing will change u have to apply and just wait

background check is done by cbsa not by cic
cic sends your file to cbsa once its done cbsa sends it back to cic.
once cic rec your file they issue the visa. I did some research cbsa can take from 9-18 month to clear each case for pr visa
and 10 to 20 days for trv visa (vistor). the embassy in beirut requested comprehensive security for my wife as per cbsa notes.
security check is done for both applicant and sponcer even im a canadian cit for more then 18 years they embassy requested security for both of us.
my wife just completed 8 months of security i hope it doesnt take any longer this is very stressful

why would they do a security check on yourself if you live in Canada? That doesn't make sense, I think they only do a background check on the person that is travelling to Canada (your wife).

thats what i said why ... thats what the cbsa notes said . also my mp said the same..

each case is diffrent im not trying to make it hard on u i know how painfull is waiting. i hope ur husband dont go throu the same

So it seems we are still all in the same boat

security check is taking time on Middle East people even if we are canadian

I don’t to be mean but I think from what I hear from a friend it’s all depends from which region hou are

They asked the wife of a friend she is from the south and which political party she is .... I heard same another story

This is insane.... I am more canadian than lebanease. I hope to stay here but if it will take more than year I have to leave and stay near my husband

My country is kicking me out, and they are accepting illegal people from US

Its Access to information privacy its for GCMS notes i think the send me an email to track my requests but didn’t knw how to use track it...

and yes i think it’s only for middle east that took sooo long in background checks.

When you say CBSA notes do you mean the gmc notes? or is there another note that we can order?

Hi its another set of notes you order it from the same place where u order ircc noted
Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Online Request
then pick cbsa first on the list
get the electronic copy not paper your husband need to sign a consent form u could find https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf745-eng.html
its diffrent then ircc consent form
this is the agency that handle security check

Hi guys I’m doing my interview in 11/4/2018 and all thing was good and they say to me the security check need up to 3 month and when I contact the Canadian Embassy the told me all thing fine and just wait any body know time between interview to visa
