last year, the process of family sponsorship in Hong Kong was much faster than this year!Is there anyone applying for Hong Kong office this year and already got visa?
my application has been received by CIC on Dec 2013. my case are still pending for review. There are still lots of people waiting before me. I guess it will be super lucky for me to get my visa in October.

Still waiting ourselves. I've gone through threads for applicants back to November, 2013 up to April 2014. Some back in November still no change in their status of application received, while some who applied in March 2014, as we did, have already gone to "in process" or even had passport requests. Mind you, I understand every application may be different, but do those differences really equate to some waiting several months or year, than those which breeze through the system with nothing more than a cursory glance?
In our case, we weren't expecting to be one of the "lucky ones" with a four month processing time. Because my wife is not a citizen of Hong Kong (Macau) but working there for several years, we expect that our file will be, at least in part, sent to two different countries for background checks.
Our medical expires soon, as does both criminal records checks. I understand she will likely need to re-do the one for Macau. Hopefully CIC will not ask for another one for the Philippines, especially since she has not travelled there since the last police record check.
