I have a question from the forum members...my family was asked to do the police clearance back in 2015 when additional documents were requested from CHC Delhi now 3 years later the file is still in progress and family has done 2nd medical. My question is do we need to get updated police clearance? Delhi office has not asked us so far....should I do it in advance and send it? I heard that police clearance is valid for one year only from the issue date.
Please suggest what to do...thanks alot!!

I also heard that police clearance is good for one year. Lets say you are thinking the same and trying to get new one from police. I don't think you would get it. Because Police people/dept would ask you to show letter from CIC.

I would say wait for request from CIC. I heard now to get PCC is not long wait time. So it is better to wait.

We are seeing some updates in ECAS and MyCIC.

In MyCIC, two days ago, the background check status changed from "we are processing..." to "not applicable".
Then yesterday, it changed again to "we are processing...".
Since yesterday PR application status in ECAS is showing as "Decision Made".
But when I click on the link, there are no new lines added.
Yesterday, we also received an email with invitation to pre-arrival services.

I have extended Super Visa (Actually extended stay for 2 more years) though my consultant. My consultant asked me for My Job Letter, New insurance policy for one year.

I don't think we can apply for ANOTHER Supervisa from Within Canada.

However i was looking for an answer, as the super visa is normally valid for 10 years, but got only for 2 years because of passport validity. Now I got passport renewed for 10 years, IS it possible to send passport to CIC and get same OLD VISA with validity for 8 years (10-2=8)? May be Original super visa is still sitting in CIC's systems for 10 years, Was just issued for 2 years because of passport validity?

Just wanted to check what happened to your super visa case after renewal of passport. Were you able to get in stamped for remaining 8 years or was it a complete new application?

No it was for 2 years. And it was not visa. It was a extended stay in Canada. What that mean is. If You leave canada, you cannot come back even within those 2 years.

So if you want full 8 years, you have re-apply the supervisa. Applying supervisa and extension for stay are two different things.

Gcms notes are the most accurate way to find about your application status Agreed.

Anyone here whose visa office is Abu Dhabi??? I got PPR ftom them on 24th Dec 2015 and passport recieved by them on 14th Jan 2016 and i have been waiting since then.
No news at all. Emailed ADVO too but no reply. Does anyone has any idea how long do they take.??? Others who have submitted their passports under different category have recieved theirs back in 2 weeks time. But its taking forever in my case.?? What can i do???Anyone? ??

when did you received the passports finally? is it PR visa?
