Our application was straight forward. Interview waived in March. Finally transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa in July. We called my husband's MP who told us that. We still have not been contacted by a VO or anyone else in Ottawa. Medicals are 15 months old now. No extension filed that we know of.

I am out of patience but there is NO ONE accountable. I keep getting the same form letter from Ontario office. What else can I do?

Have you gotten your notes? That might give it you a better idea what's going on.

The notes take four to five weeks to receive. I have two weeks before re-doing my medicals is mandatory. It will cost over $1500 to re-do them and that's after I gather my two kids, one in college out of town, and drive three ours away to re-do them. I don't want to have to do this when I did them in plenty of time and sent them with the application to AVOID DELAY in processing. This whole process is absurd. Why would you send 50% of the applications transferred to an office in Canada that has NEVER processed immigration forms before?

I can't keep doing this.
I am out of money. Out of patience. I have been told to write to the Minister of Immigration.

Sorry to hear that, I hope it get sorted out soon. Have you been asked to re-do the medicals? if not, then wait and you might be given an extension, thus saving money ( and time, and energy). If you have been asked to re-do them, it's probably a very good sign that your COPR is close...
Good luck,
Sweden

we have not even heard from an officer. No extension has been filed that we know of. And the whole idea is that WE do not WANT to re-do them. I am out of money and patience because of all these delays!

I don't think you'll find out about the extension of your medicals, other than being informed that your visa is approved without having to re-do the medicals - so I would advise not to do them unless specifically asked to do so... and fingers crossed you'll hear from them soon - before you even get the GCMS notes.
Good luck,
Sweden

As Sweden said, without them directing you to do further medicals I would abstain for now. Any extension to your application, you are unlikely to know about. Speaking as I am in exactly the same situation as yourself, mine expired yesterday. Some DMP's won't carry out a 2nd medical without an instruction from the relevant VO, I have heard some are ok with carrying out a 2nd medical but for now, I would wait until instructed by CIC to do a further medical.

I think this is 1 really badly designed part of the application, in that a lot of VO's take longer than 10 months to finalise an application and added with the 1st stage approval it is highly likely that medicals will expire and for that matter so will PCC's. This part smacks to me like 1 ponzi scheme. Where they charge you for the exact same procedure twice. Medicals should definitely be requested after 1st stage sponsor approval as should PCC's, as it stands the whole process becomes very very expensive.

Wishing you the best of luck :D

as everyone suggested, don't do the medicals if they didn't ask for it, because again the officer can extend it. not that you will lose just money but it will actually cause delay in your application if you redo them with out them asking for it. my whole application took 14 months which is actually not very much compare to many who have been waiting for longer, your application might be done at any moment unless there is an issue. your time frame is not absurdly over due yet, so hang in there hopefully you will hear something soon.

good luck.
