My Bridge Open Work Permit got approved today and it took only 10 days and my CEC application is taking over 1 year!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you have to get your application in process before you applied for the Open WP ?

Because one is permanent residence which requires much more comprehensive processing with a long queue of applicants and the other is temporary residence from within Canada which doesn't need much outside of the basic documentation.
 
I got my open work permit approved for 5 years and I didn't have to have my application in process. My application still says Application Received.

I didn't get it..did you get one year extension or 5 years?

it is supposed to extend for 1 year only right...

Hey Buddy ,

I have a similar situation as yours , my application for FSW 2014 is received by CIC on 2 june 2014. My visa is also expiring in a month . Can you please advise me should I apply Bridge Work Permit now though I dont have any acknowledgment received yet from CIC .

Also ,did you apply online or paper application . Please let me know
