My question in a nutshell:
I want a 2 yr course so i can have 3yr pgwp, but i can't find any,so I will have to take a 1 yr course, but planning to change to a 2 yr course after entering canada, but problem seems that my study permit will show 1 year only...what can I do here?
You can enroll in any 2 year course with same study permit .
After that you can apply for a study permit extension .Don't apply in the last days , give them proper time to process your application .
Applying 3-4 months before date of expiry is advisable .

Thank you for your response..
basically apart from what i wrote there, i'm asking if changing my program from 1 yr to 2 yr program :
-will it create problems in extension of study permit since if I initially get visa on 1yr program the permit will expire in 1 year?
-will it create problem in getting 3yr pgwp sine I will have completed a 2yr course?
-will pgwp be granted only for a year since my first original study permit said 1 year even though I will have completed a 2 year course?
thank you

- No problem but still it depends on VO He can do anything , but it's a rare chance .
- NOT at all
