I am PR of Canada. As my passport was going to expire in Oct 2025, I applied for the passport renewal. For the passport renewal, I had to add the Canadian address as printable address for the new passport. And in the other address, I added the Indian address. Now this other address which is Indian address is different from the previous passport. So will it create an issue in the application? I have given the Aadhar card of my parents as an address proof. I wasn't able to give my Aadhar card because it has old address and the phone number which is not working. And to change Aadhar card, I have to travel India for the biometrics but I cannot board a flight as of now.
I went to BLS Ottawa for the application on 28th Jan, 2025. My application was received by High Commission of Ottawa on 30th Jan, 2025. I know the normal renewal time is around 8 weeks. But it has already been 4 weeks since any updates. The status on both the BLS Tracker and Passport Seva is same i.e. Application is under decisioning at High Consulate.
As the people who comes under the jurisdiction of Ottawa, their file is only processed by HCI Ottawa. So does anyone have any idea how long do they take for the decision? Because, if I am not wrong Police Verification in India should be the next step once the Consulate gives the green signal to them. My father went to the police station before 2days but they told they haven't received any file as of now.
Can anyone help that what shall I do now? I have already called HCI Ottawa but no one is picking up the call. I have used their SEVA portal for raising the query but no response.
If anyone has any idea, please do let me know.
