Putin needs to be given a carrot or he'll lose all his power in Russia. He's stuck really, and that's what's making the situation very dangerous. If he finds himself in a position where he's got nothing left to lose then we'll all see nukes flying. I hope it doesn't come to that.

If it comes to that, all we could hope for is that at least one of his inner circle does the right thing.

I'm not Turkish so I can't really say but all Turkish are looked at with 'some' distrust from Euro countries from what I know

Canada is more or less the same. That's why many immigrants surround themselves with immigrants. One may not find enough number of immigrants to surround themselves with in Europe to create such an illusion of integration for themselves. Since there are many immigrants in Canada it's much easier to do that there.

Seeing how Ukrainian refugees are being treated in EU, makes me sad at how Syrians were treated. Stuck in Turkey, tossed aside in a section of the country, earning shit pay, because they don't have documents and the consulates charging ridiculous amounts for new docs. Only EU country that extended a hand was germany, while others didn't care enough and even shot at refugee boats. Brazil opened the door for refugees, but in a way like, if you can get here on your own, we'll give you status.

I do feel for the people of Ukraine/Russia who will pay the cost of this war. Being from a war torn country I wouldn't wish it upon anyone else but its not as balck and white as the western media is making it out to be. This is not good (the west) vs. bad (Russia). This is just a dick waving contest.

Russia has been nuked, economically speaking. Putin is fuming for a reason. He is not putting his strategic armed forces on cocked-triggers alert for show. The situation is/has been way more delicate than it appears.
