Putin needs to be given a carrot or he'll lose all his power in Russia. He's stuck really, and that's what's making the situation very dangerous. If he finds himself in a position where he's got nothing left to lose then we'll all see nukes flying. I hope it doesn't come to that.
Yup. Putler is a maniac. But he chose the right time to attack Ukraine when the US has its own issues. We have an election this year and it looks like Democrats will lose the house because Republicans have already begun successfully setting up a narrative that Biden is incapable of. If Republicans come back, rest assured we will see a full-fledged war.
There was never a right time to attack/invade Ukraine and that was Putin's miscalculation which may now start a nuclear war. The shit in Donbass has been there for almost a decade now and they should have kept the tension there if they really wanted to have a dispute. The attack on Kyiv was unnecessary and really just reckless.
I doubt Putin's political support would be boosted much by fully capturing Kyiv anyway, it really serves no near term purpose. So it shouldn't be much of a problem on his side if he leaves Kyiv. Sure, capturing Kyiv would disallow NATO and the west from settling (and weaponizing) Russia's close proximity given that Putin can elect a new government there that's probably not Ukraine anymore but some Russia orbiter. But he could give the same "keep your forces away from my border" message to the west by containing the heat in Donbass only which would be safer for the whole world.
I don't know who gave him the idea that trying to invade the capital city of a sovereign country in the 21st century was such a great idea under any circumstances...

stupid in the sense that more countries are showing interest in joining the NATO now hehe. if putler didn't ignite this, those countries would have postponed their joining interests for a few more years.
This is going to push Russia and Belarus to a corner, something similar to north Korea.
if corona is china's tool then china is the most intelligent regime who wasted 2-3 years of all countries. which affected all the youth which affects the economy for a decade.
