Spouse Open Work permit

Hi , Submitted my application on 25th aug2021 for Spousal Open Work Permit visa , husband is on Study permit visa.
Biometrics -29th sept 2021
Only update post this is on 10th feb 2022 "You have passed your medicals"
Can anyone guide/ share information on how long do they take post this update, to generate Passport request letter (PPR)? There's no relevant update and situation is a quite frustrating. Is anyone there in a similar situation , please connect.

unfortunately, no update yet!

I applied on August 17th
my medical is also updated on Feb 10 2022, after that no updates !!!!!

I guess they sent everyone medical passed on 10th feb22 . please update if anyone receives any further info. I have applied for SOWP , spouse is on study visa.

So you aren’t graduating until November? Or are you graduating within the next few months?

1. You can apply, but it is unlikely to be issued, as you will have less that 6 months on your study permit when the application is reviewed.

Hi all,

My husband is working in Canada ( ICT TCS) and his TRV expires this month Feb 2022 ( along with our VV which company raised for us in 2020). Due to COVID he couldn't travel and got the opportunity in dec 2021and he landed in Canada last month and I couldnt travel bcoz I am currently employed in India( 2 months notice period). He got his Work permit till Jan 2024 during the port of entry... He is going to apply for TRV this month ..

So can we apply visa together ? With inland TRV WP visa( which expires) and outland SOWP( my application)? Or do I need to wait for his Visa approval and then apply for SOWP?

I will be joining immediately after applying for my PGWP

You apply once you have 3 pay stubs and employment letter showing you are doing the job. That is required.

those who applied from June to August get medical updates in Feb..

I'm also waiting but now seen lot of post by saying sowp is approve who applied from Feb to June 2021!!!!!!!

Is a bank statement required when applying for an open work permit from outside Canada? The person who is applying spouse is studying in Canada.
