I need answer to a DNA question..... My spouse has a son whom I am sponsoring with his father. He did DNA twice ,first one in 2010 was 96% and now in 2017 95.22 %. The child is his,the mother is deceased and the standard with IRCC is 99.8%. In this case what can we do.... The child has lived with my spouse all these years and if the child is left behind no one will take care. Please help...
Thanks Mary,
I think you need the parent or guardian consent to adopt a child, that been said, the biological mother is deceased and father 'DNA inconclusive.... so what is the way forward with the adoption option....
I really need help to crack up this situation.

I would google country specific adoption protocol. Also, for Canadians adopting internationally. Provide Mother's death certificate. I wonder if your husband can use any supporting evidence of past relationship with the mother? Do they recognize the dna tests there? Is the child Muslim? Some countries only allow Muslim couples to adopt.
Also in CIC website there's info on adopting/sponsoring. Hope that helps.
What country are the father and child from? Did CIC or the visa office ask for a DNA test to be done? Does the child have a birth certificate, and is the father listed there? Usually a child of a marriage is considered to be the father's, unless there is some reason to think the opposite.

Yes birth certificate has father(My spouse) and mother(deceased) listed as parents. Country is Nigeria and yes they requested for DNA test. I would say that it was a relationship and not a marriage.

HELLO! Would Anyone please guide me for dna procedure. we received to chose a lab for dna test for me , my wife and two kids. I am sponsor. I did mine in Canada but I did not received any instruction letter since 3 months gone already in waiting for my wife and kids dna. any idea how long I have to wait. I am from Pakistan.
I don't understand your question. The DNA results have to be 99.8% or higher for IRCC to accept them. If they are lower, this indicates that there is either an error with the test and you need to do it again, or that the child isn't actually your child but possibly a close relation (such as a niece or nephew or grandchild).
