Do a postal application. It’s faster. Double check your application before posting it. E.g signatures and list of documents and all. And you will have no problem at all.
Mine was reached the next day I posted it and was marked underprocess in two days.
I don't know honestly, agree this is confusing. Recently helped my mom in India renew her passport, and it was an extremely clear and straightforward process (managed by TCS). In Canada, we are unfortunately stuck with BLS' incompetence.

I literally typed oci checklist on google and the first result was the one I attached. I'm not sure which one to follow because the one is very straight forward and the other is more complex.
Ohh wow, that good to know, but in Check lick it says following documents need in original which is Canadian or any Foreign passport ??? so you mean we have to just send Original last held Indian passport right ??

Yeah do not submit any originals. You need to submit your original indian passport because they are going to put a cancel stamp on it. But do not send them original Canadian passport and original citizenship certificate if you’re sending a postal application to be precise

Book the appointment under "Passport" category, a lot of appointments are available. Keep checking daily, i checked on 25th and got an appointment for 26th. Best time to check is at 8:30 am in the morning or around 4 in the evening.
It does not matter which category you have appointment under and what is the exact work. For e.g. i booked the appointment under passport category and went in and filed OCI.
Walk Ins are very very difficult. The security lady at the entrance is very strict. She comes out and calls/shouts the appointment timing and name for everyone.
But i have seen, she let one person inside who had an appointment for a later date but he had some sort of very real emergency.

Ok thank you somuch for the information really I appreciate your help , yeah I am keep checking Toronto and as well as Brampton none of them have any kind of slots till May 2022 , which is too much frustrating ..
Can anyone confirm if we can apply for surrender certificate and OCI together at Brampton location. What exactly do we need to provide in professional details. How would self employed or homemaker provide this?
TIA
As per the new rules, you cant apply for surrender and OCI together. You have to do surrender first, wait for the surrender certificate to arrive and then apply for OCI.
BLS vancouver i beleive is still allowing to do the surrender and OCI application together.
Is there a police verification happens in India, just like passport police verification use to happen in the past, where police guys from the nearest police station comes to the home? Do the police go the Indian address filled on? Or do they call the Indian reference?
