They can land in 2022, no more restrictions. The past is in the past mate gotta look forward. Mandamus looks like a really good option in 2022. But if @Lc4life is right and even mandamus doesn't work now due to the long wait being the new normal then we're all fucked.
Not true. there's no such extension. CECs were betting on BOWP which was supposed to extend for 1 year, but the requirement if that is eAPR is obtained. Now with no CEC draws a bunch of employers will need to seek LMIA (expensive and will take for months) or they can go home.

How? please let me know how they got 1 year extension with which program? If this is the case many people will qualify. Is it PGWP or closed work permit?

NO program at all and there is not even a public policy. Im not lying to you man, ask around in CEC forums. THose who hve asked for work permit have been given one. Just last week my friend who applied in december was approved for 1 year. His 1 year pgwp had expired. All he said that because there are no draws it is not possible for him to continue working, hence request to grant an extention on work permit.
