Citizenship Certificate After Oath

Hi! Congratulations! I took my oath on Nov 25th and the application status was updated as 'Closed' on 29th. I have vacation plans for the winter and am eager awaiting my citizenship certificate so I can apply for the passport soon after. Did the certificate come by regular mail or registered mail. Were you able to track the mail before you received it?

Came by regular mail and wasn’t able to be tracked

When did your status change to CLOSED? That is the date when certificate is printed and mailed out.. So probably it is with CanadaPost now. All the best

I heard lot of testimonies like yours. Unfortunately CIC is not reliable. I had to reschedule my ceremony, because I could not cancel my trip. Good luck!

Thanks. I just tried it but doesn’t work. Maybe my citizenship application is too old for this: I applied preCOVID when only paper application exist.

took oath on 17th of nov and still no certificate its seriously stupid emailed the office they said wait for 2 more weeks

At least they responded to you. Ottawa doesn't even respond to emails. I used mail tracker to find out the time when they actually open the email. They opened it 2 days ago and still no reply, no certificate printed, no update on tracker. I am left with no documents (no PR card and no citizenship certificate) for a month and half (and counting). I am going to write to the minister's office today.

Who did you email? I did oath on the 16th of Nov and still no update on tracker nor certificate. I emailed too but no reply

Immigration said they mailed out
So pretty sure Canada post lost mine during Black Friday

does anyone know if a local IRCC office allows certificate pick up after the oath ceremony?
Mailing a certificate takes toooo much time even with express service.

does any one of you had your certificates delivered late? because i want to know if we have to file for a lost shippment then whats the process for that ? i have a flight on the 24th of feb thats why i am seriously concerned here

Well immigration wouldn’t admit it’s lost, ask me to keep waiting for Canada post to deliver it. I will come back in year 2025 to convince immigration that yeah it is NOT gonna to arrive in mail
