That is called ghost update, you should see an actual update in the tracker in the next couple of days, it could be BG verification turning green as completed or a test invitation. If the BG doesn't change to complete you will be required to provide Fingerprints.
Hi guys,
Unfortunately i was not able to complete my citizenship test due to internet outage in my area (my bad luck). All process was fine. But as soon as i started the test ( was able to complete just 2 question), a major internet out outage happend in my area ( f@#k!ng Bell). I have written to the ircc and explained the issue and reason for not able to complete the test. I wanted to check, has any one been in the similar situation? I am worried about the next steps. Plus don't know how long its going to take to get the retest link? Really appriciate any information around it.
Sorry to hear that. From what others have shared, you will be given a second chance to complete the test, the next test invite could come within weeks or months. Now back to the waiting game.

Thanks @Strongfaith42 for the info! Appreciate it. I think its going to be a long wait now . Just one more question. I have sent a note to the Ircc on the email id that was mentioned in the invitation letter (test scheduling office). Do i need to send a web form as well or that email is enough? @rajkamalmohanram appricate your input as well.

The email you sent should be enough, the test will probably show as failed at their end as you didn't finish it, therefore they will reschedule it as you have a second and a third chance, but I think the third one would be through MS Teams in front of an Agent. Please keep us posted

I looked into the excell sheet for this year and last year for applicant from Halifax unfortunately most of them stoped updating their status so I could not forecast my case.
My Background status was completed on Aug 29 but was changed in the system Oct 4.
I am over 55 years so I should be excempted from the test and languages so I do not understand why till now those two items not complete yet, any one can tell me the next step is for my case.
Thanks.

As you indicated in your comment, either applicants from 2020 and early 2021 haven't updated their information or the office is trying to clear the backlog from 2018-2020. The offices I have seen more active are the Ontario offices, the rest are way behind, you can try to contact your MP, send a webform, or request ATIP/GCMS notes to understand the status of your application.
Reading the Discover Canada and practicing with app should make it for the preparation. There is a bunch of good apps to practice the test. Here is one app I can recommend - Canadian Citizenship Test
