So yesterday, there was an interesting development - a representative from the MP of my local riding pro-actively reached out to say they've been keeping tabs on my file since my original request. While they seem to not be able to do much once it hits the oath step, it
does seem that reaching out to them and having them look up my file
did have some influence on the speed/priority of the application.
So perhaps that might be a way to at least get some attention for folks. A welcome surprise, nonetheless.

I am sorry, I don't see the influence. In the email they are saying they talked to an agent, and your file is waiting the test, with no timeline given. Has you file witnessed any progress after the original correspondence with the MP?

Yes - shortly after I wrote to them I got my test invitation (which got invalidated). Wrote to them again and CC'd the IRCC Mississauga office asking for a timeline on a new invite - received one within a week.
Then they called again to follow up that the test was completed successfully and then out of the blue, I got another mail last night telling me that I got Decision Made (which I was already aware of, but they checked anyway).

This is awesome. Can you possibly send a template of the first email you sent to your MP?

Sure, here's what I originally sent them.
Dear Mr. Representative Name,
My name is <XXXXXXXXX> and I am a resident of your constituency. I seek your help in understanding the status of my citizenship application (Application File No: XXXXXXXXXX) and an approximation of when I can be expected to give my citizenship test and oath to the nation I have called home for nearly 4 years.
For context, I have applied in November 2020 and, thanks to the online tracker provided by the IRCC, can see that my application has been 'In Process' since early February, but no further updates have been forthcoming. I am concerned about this in light of the fact that this present state of administrative limbo and lack of clarity from both the IRCC and the Hon'ble Mendicino regarding the plan to address the backlog of applicants like me (some of whom have been waiting since early 2020) means that I have no clarity on when/if I will be able to visit my family (who, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, I have not been able to visit for over 2 years).
In summary, I seek your assistance in understanding my current application status and learning if it can be expedited in any way. I look forward to your response and I can be contacted via e-mail (XXXXXXXXXXXXor via cellphone at XXXXXXXXXXX ).
Thank you for all that you do and stay safe.
XXXXXXXXXXXX
----------Letter ends
In response to this, they sent me a form for some details that they could use to correspond on my behalf through their Parliament specific IRCC eCAS (which seems to give more or less the same info that we get anyway, but who knows....maybe someone accessing that information through backchannels then sets a flag on the file that there are bureaucratic interests for that specific case and it is given a priority?)

This will be a great help thank you, For your information, I sent an email to my representative as well just now. Hoping for the best!!!!!!
There is no update on my application since April 23. I ordered GCMS notes and from what I see paper file was received by Kitchener office on June 14 And since then no updates.
Same here . No update since April 23rd. i did not order GCMS yet. What is your net step to do?
By any chance, does ordering the GCMS notes trigger for a process to happen?

My application is still in the same state. No change after GCMS
