Hi Friends, I have a question about the Background check. CIC citizenship office requested my fingerprints in late july. I went through fingerprints agency on 27 July and told them to send it directly to the citizenship office address that was mentioned in the letter received by the citizenship office. I noticed on the citizenship tracker that my "Background verification" is still in progress after 2 months. I called CIC and they said they have not yet received fingerprint results from RCMP. I send an email to RCMP 3 weeks ago no reply from them as well.
Is it normal for RCMP to take more than 2 months to send fingerprints results to the citizenship office? Have any of you also been in the same situation? any suggestion what can I do now besides hoping that it will be completed one day.
Please help..
Anyone from Scarborough office got the oath instruction email. What is the email address on the letter if you need to reschedule your oath?
I need that email for Scarborough.
same me , pissing me so much ! when u receive a ticket to pay from the gov or the city arrive very quick right? 2 -3 days max now for something u need they take so long
I had this idea in my mind. I called cic phone number, IRCC agent suggested me against it(redo FP). He said Background processing can take less time or more time. On the RCMP website they said either it can take 3 business days (if no criminal record find), or it can take 120 business days (if a record is found or they need manual verification). The problem is this : RCMP people do not tell you whether they are processing or they have submitted. What if they are still processing. if I redo fingerprints it might complicate my case even more. Now, I really do not know what to do. :-( I am thinking may be wait is the only fair option I have.
Family received their citizenship certificates 1 week after the ceremony ( 21 -> 29). Application status: Closed.
All the best to you guys all (myself -In Process - included).
