I applied on june 2020, i re applied on sep 22 and yesterday my old application was refused and new application has updated my uci number, is it normal.???

I got the both PPR request on the new application and withdrawal letter for old application on same day. If I remember correctly UCI number was reflected on the new application since the day I applied. I guess it works differently for different HC's

Has anyone re-applied for the visitor visa after Sep 7th and gotten a passport request as well?
I applied for a visitor visa to reunite with immediate family in Feb 2021, provided all docs for travel exemption but haven't heard any response yet.

I called the IRCC, they say if your situation has not changed, implying that you already told us you were exempt from covid-travel-restrictions, you don't need to submit an application again, we will process the same application. But I am seeing few responses in forum where the new application re-filed got a response in just days. I don't understand why my application is not being processed and prioritized then.

Can anyone share their experience if they initially filed visitor visa providing proof that they are exempted from any travel restrictions and then recently submitted a new application after Sep 7th, have you heard back anything yet?

Hi, so sorry to hear that your first application was refused.If it's been refused, I believe your second application will get refused as well if there are no changes to your situation and documents.


The second application is primarily for those who have not had their decision on the first application. So in my opinion, it is better for you to withdraw your second application cz it will save you $100 and reapply again when the situation changes or you have stronger documents.

By the way, why was your visa refused? Can you share the details about your first application! It will be helpful for others reading this thread.

Guys, do you know when we apply via GCCkey we're not prompted with a questionnaire of why you would be visiting to Canada
where as in portal account it ask and then I can choose to unite with immediate family.
Any advise which portal should we used ?

My mom actually had sinovac and we put in that she is willing to quarantine. Did you also indicate this?

My friend is applying too for his gf (Thai) TRV. On RCC website, long term relationship is acceptable and says most likely be allowed to enter Canada, so I'd say go ahead with the application. However, as far as I've seen people posting so far, seems like mostly IMMEDIATE family are being approved, at least in this thread. We know IRCC is back logged right now and seems to only prioritizing immediate family application. Good luck.

when you filled up GCC key form was there an option to reunite with an immediate family in the form ?Where did you stated that you're meeting your immediate family!
